No matter what ever happens, I will never forget those things which I treasure.
The wonder of the world, The beauty and the power, The shapes of things, Their colours, lights and shades: These I saw. Look ye also, while life lasts.
I just returned from Kyiv today after visiting the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
It's an amazing place, especially for someone like me who doesn't spend much time around abandoned buildings. The sheer extent to which it's been taken over by the trees is astonishing. A word on the trees - they do display various mutations quite obviously. It may be unrelated, but not many of them grow straight, making the Red Forest a very disturbing place, and some grow in random directions so that they hardly look like trees.
It's very sad... I almost feel that by posting photographs of it I'm being disrespectful. It's not as if it hasn't been photographed by far better people than me, so why did I do it?
